The Constitution is one of the many documents that creates a basis for our nation. However, the Preamble to the Constitution has no force in law; instead, it establishes the "Why" of the Constitution.

We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America
The Preamble reflects the desire of the framers to create a better system of rights and privilegdes for the citizens of the United States.
